Seasonal Depression
Spread the love!

During the fall and winter, it’s important to get out of the house as much as possible. The days are shorter and it’s gloomy. It’s cold and wet…IT’S CLEVELAND. If you work from home, you may want to consider joining a co-working space especially this time of year. Here’s why.

Seasonal depression, or seasonal affective disorder, is real and many people are affected by it each year. The disorder is caused by the decreased sunlight which decreases the amount of serotonin the brain makes. In a nutshell, the pathways that regulate your mood don’t function normally causing feelings of depression, fatigue, and possibly weight gain. This mood disorder starts in the fall and ends around springtime which is a long time to not feel like yourself.

So what can you do to reduce seasonal depression symptoms? You can join a co-working space and get out of that home office. The best prevention method for seasonal depression is spending time outside of your home every day. Daylight always helps, even when skies are grey.

Coworking spaces, such as The Green House, are ideal because the space is open with lots of windows to capture the daylight.

Do you need to get out of the house this fall and winter? Stop by The Green House, at 20150 Lakeshore Blvd. in Euclid, for a quick tour any time from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday.
